THE OFFENCES
Both admitted two attempted aggravated burglaries. Knapman also admitted possessing a bladed article; Roy admitted an unrelated police-officer assault and a driving offence.
THE INCIDENTS
Police were called around 5.10am on 14 June after attempted forced entry. A window was broken and residents threatened. A second flat was also targeted. The men returned the next day, shouting and banging a door, and were subsequently arrested.
READING THE SENTENCE
The police release reports six years for Knapman and seven years four months for Roy. It separately mentions six months for Roy’s other offences without clearly stating whether this is included. We have not added the figures together. The sentencing date is not supplied.
