Garrido, of Burgh Castle, received six years in prison after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
WHAT HAPPENED
His Tesla Model 3 struck Leavy as he crossed South Beach Parade at approximately 9.45pm on 27 August 2024. Leavy died at the scene.
THE EVIDENCE AND IMPACT
Police investigators found that speeds had reached 80mph on the 30mph road. Statements from Leavy’s family described the continuing impact of his death.
