Nicholas Prosper: life sentences for three Luton murders

The sentencing court set a 49-year minimum before credit for time already spent in custody.

The case

Nicholas Prosper murdered his mother Juliana Falcon and his siblings Kyle and Giselle at their Luton home on 13 September 2024. He had obtained a shotgun using a false firearms certificate.

Evidence and court findings

The investigation uncovered plans for a school shooting. Prosper admitted the three murders and associated weapon offences. At sentencing, the judge considered the overall offending, his age and guilty pleas, deciding on a substantial minimum term rather than a whole-life order.

The sentence

On 19 March 2025, Luton Crown Court imposed concurrent life sentences. The 49-year minimum became 48 years and 177 days after remand credit. On 16 July 2025 the Court of Appeal refused the Solicitor General’s attempt to obtain a whole-life order, leaving the sentence in place.

Sources and case status

Includes the 16 July 2025 appellate decision refusing the reference seeking a whole-life order. The life sentence and finite minimum remained.
