Inside the prison and daily life
Eastwood Park is a prison and young offender institution for women aged 18 and over in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire. Accommodation includes rooms for one, two or three prisoners, with telephones in every cell.
A separate mother and baby unit provides accommodation for women with children under 18 months old. It forms part of the prison's specialist provision for women in custody.
Education includes English, maths, computing, hospitality, horticulture, retail, customer service, beauty and catering. Other courses address budgeting, peer mentoring and victim awareness.
Practical placements are available in areas such as kitchens, laundry, the library, gardens, gym and cafe. These provide opportunities to develop work experience alongside classroom learning.
Voluntary and community organisations provide additional support. Induction introduces new arrivals to health and wellbeing services, education, prison rules and contact arrangements.
Visiting and family contact
Some women can undertake temporary release for community work, family contact and preparation for leaving custody, subject to approval and the relevant conditions.
Families should confirm current visiting requirements before travelling. Booking and identification rules apply, and welfare concerns can be raised through the prison's designated contact routes.
Practical advice before you make arrangements
Use Eastwood Park's official page below for its current booking route, required identification, permitted items and travel instructions.
Confirm that the person is still at Eastwood Park and that your visit has been accepted before making travel arrangements. Ask the prison in advance about disability access, medication or children's needs.
